Opera today: San Diego rides again; the "fat lady" won't go away

The San Diego Opera is dead. Long live the San Diego Opera. I was in the midst of preparing a blog post about opera and body image -- yet again -- when the news came across my radar that the San Diego Opera, which two months ago unexpectedly announced that it would be closing for good at the end of April, has figured out a way to stay open. This news is so happy that it overshadows the field's weight problems. (The fat lady has sung, and the opera ain't over, so there.)
